What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (interior material flammability) that fails to meet federal safety standards, posing a risk of ignition, which aligns with the 'Severe' criteria for significant injury/property-damage reports or structural defects.
Plain-English summary
Sleepdogmattress is recalling certain foam mattress covers, model Coolmax FR1633, sold as aftermarket accessories for heavy trucks equipped with sleeper cabs. Only covers with lot number 41010 are included in this recall. The defect involves some of these covers not being fire resistant, causing them to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, "Flammability of Interior Materials."
The safety risk is that the mattress cover could ignite if exposed to an open flame. Sleepdogmattress will notify owners of record and replace the affected mattress cover with a flame-resistant cover free of charge. The safety recall began on August 3, 2010.
