Ride Control, LLC is recalling certain front strut mounts branded as Gabriel Ride Control or ArvinMeritor. These parts, with part numbers 142435, 142193, 142305, and 142303, were sold as replacement equipment for specific model years of Toyota Celica, Lexus ES250, Chevrolet Prizm, Geo Prizm, Toyota Corolla, and Nissan Altima vehicles. The recall pertains only to these aftermarket parts and has no relation to original equipment installed by the vehicle manufacturers.

The affected front strut mounts did not contain a weld joint between the bearing housing and the rate plate. The absence of this weld can allow the strut to come out of its mounting position under certain extreme driving conditions. This failure could cause damage to surrounding vehicle components, which increases the risk of a crash.
