DZH Import & Export Inc. is recalling two brands of dried mushrooms: CURIOSITY OF DASHAN brand DRIED MUSHROOM (100g) and MOUNTAINS brand DRIED MUSHROOM (35g). The products were imported from China and distributed in New York City.
The recall was initiated because sampling and analysis by the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets found that the products contained undeclared sulfites. The CURIOSITY OF DASHAN brand contained 7984 ppm of sulfites, and the MOUNTAINS brand contained 7943 ppm. Sulfites are a common food allergen that must be declared on food labels.
