Turtle Wax Inc. is voluntarily recalling approximately 37,400 containers of Turtle Wax Protectant 10-oz. finger pump spray (T-118) and about 2,000 containers of Turtle Wax Formula 2001 Super Protectant 16-oz. trigger spray (T-97). The recalled products may be contaminated with bacteria commonly found in human skin and soil. Under certain conditions, this bacteria can cause a minor skin rash or other problems for users.
The products were sold in select stores for between $1.99 and $6.99 from May 1994 to August 1994. Turtle Wax has not received any reports of injury from using the protectants. The recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.
Consumers can identify the recalled products by checking the container for specific codes: T-118 containers with codes E20410, E20411, E21410, or E21411, and T-97 containers with code G054601. Consumers should stop using the product and return it to the retailer where it was purchased for a full refund or exchange.
