Plain-English summary
Conair LLC is expanding its recall of Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes due to an ingestion hazard. The recall now covers approximately 3,625,800 brushes in total, including about 1,905,805 additional units added to the initial recall of 1,719,995 brushes issued in July 2026. The affected brushes feature black plastic, stainless steel, or wood handles and include specific model numbers such as CCB-100, CCB-4125, and CGWM-024. Additionally, all Cuisinart wire bristle grill brushes sold individually or in sets prior to 2020 are included in this recall.
The hazard exists because small metal wire bristles can detach from the brushes and stick to the grill or food. If these bristles are ingested, they pose a risk of serious internal injuries that may require surgery. Conair is aware of at least 54 reports and reviews where wire bristles detached, including three instances where consumers swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment to remove them from their digestive tract or throat.
Consumers should stop using the recalled grill brushes immediately. They should contact Conair for a full refund or a credit for use at Cuisinart.com, which includes a full refund plus 20% of the cash refund amount. Consumers are instructed to discard the recalled brushes.
