These chargers were sold as part of the Evercel Model MOD100-7C Trolling Battery system through Cabella's mail order catalogs and website from August 2002 through September 2002 for approximately $299.

The recall is being issued because the internal electrical components of the battery chargers can overheat, posing a fire hazard. There have been three reports of these battery chargers overheating and melting, which caused minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
