FDA (Food) recall action 51820
The FDA (Food) publishes a recall like this one as 3 separate product records. They share a firm, a date and a cause; this page is all of them in one place, so the scale of the action is visible rather than spread across 3 pages.
The recall was initiated because Designer Protein has confirmed that Designer Whey 2lb Protein Powder products claim gluten free, and lab results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) found the products to contain gluten.
The agency’s own wording, quoted from the enforcement report.
The unit total adds up the quantities the agency stated for each product. Where a product record gave no figure, or gave a weight rather than a count, it contributes nothing — so the real total is at least this, never less.
Designer Protein LLC is recalling Designer Whey Chocolate protein powder because lab tests found gluten in products labeled gluten-free.
Designer Protein LLC is recalling Designer Whey Strawberry protein powder because lab tests found gluten in products labeled gluten-free.
Designer Protein LLC is recalling Designer Whey French Vanilla protein powder because lab results confirmed the presence of gluten in products labeled gluten-free.
