What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recalled product poses a risk of burn injuries due to failure to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear. Although no injuries have been reported, the hazard is established and involves a high-risk product category where injury to vulnerable children (ages covered by sleepwear standards) is reasonably foreseeable, meeting the High severity criterion.
Plain-English summary
P.J. Salvage, of Irvine, California, is recalling approximately 2,650 children's pajama sets. The recalled pajamas are two-piece, long-sleeve shirt and pant sets made of 65% polyester and 35% rayon, available in sizes x-small through x-large in camo print (olive), tie-dye (black), and striped (light blue and charcoal) patterns.
The pajama sets fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear, creating a risk of burn injuries to children who wear them. The recalled garments have a sewn-in label at the neck reading "P.J. Salvage," "Made in China," and the size. A side-seam label states "Not Intended for Sleepwear," along with size, RN number 15741, fiber content, country of origin, and washing instructions. A second side-seam label contains the tracking code "09/2021 T2022."
The pajama sets were sold online through P.J. Salvage, Amazon, and Zappos, as well as at numerous retail stores nationwide including Animal Crackers, Auntie Barbara's, Bumps N Bundles, Down to Earth Kids, Everafter, Gold Coast Kids, Jami Lyn, Midland Clothing, Millstead Boutique, Rhinestone Cowgirl, Rocky Mountain Day Spa, Simply Authentic LLC, Stoopher & Boots, Sweats Appeal, T Georgiano's Boutique, Tack of the Town, and Twinkle Twinkle Little One from December 2021 through December 2022 for approximately $56.
