Accompany USA Ceramic Mugs with Cork Bottoms Recall Due to Burn Hazard

Accompany USA is recalling about 25,000 ceramic mugs with cork bottoms because they can crack or break when hot liquid is poured into them, posing a burn hazard. One incident of breakage has been reported with no injuries.

What this means for you

Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states no injuries have been reported and the hazard is theoretical (can crack or break). Under the rubric, a theoretical hazard with no reported injuries or illnesses scores at most 3, and this precautionary, low-impact thermal hazard falls into the Moderate category consistent with low-risk, voluntary recalls.
