Compact Sedans Recalled for Brake Fluid Leak That Increases Stopping Distance
AutoVista is recalling 94,500 compact sedans for a brake-line fitting that may corrode and leak under road salt.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Three crashes, no injuries. Per rubric, "structural vehicle defect" with no injury → 3; would be 4 with injuries.
Plain-English summary
AutoVista North America has recalled 94,500 model year 2022–2023 Volta compact sedans sold in 17 states that use road salt during winter. Investigators determined the front brake-line fitting may corrode and leak brake fluid, which increases stopping distance and triggers a brake-warning light.
Three minor crashes have been linked to the defect; no injuries reported. AutoVista will replace both front brake lines and the master-cylinder reservoir cap free of charge. Owner notification mailers begin October 1, 2026.
Owners experiencing a soft brake pedal or seeing the brake warning illuminate should arrange for inspection immediately; AutoVista will reimburse pre-recall repairs.
